The San Diego County Title I Parents Association (SDCT1PA) under the leadership of Diane Haney is proud to Sponsor their 2009 Second Annual Title I Parents Training Conference in partnership with the United Parent Union (UPU).

The 2009 Conference will recognize all San Diego County Title I Academic Achievements Awardee Schools (AAA), Blue Ribbon Schools, Distinguished Schools awarded by the California Department of Education, School Districts that have the most conference participation, Front Line Principals that demonstrate effective Parent Involvement, School Selected Inspirational Teachers and Shining Star Schools that departed (PI status) program improvement.
Building Partnership through collaboration among parents, community organizations, teachers and administrators of Program Improvement Schools (PI) and Academic Achievement Awardee (AAA) Schools will also be the goal of the 2009 Title I Training Conference and working together to CLOSE THE ACHIEVEMENT GAP.
We anticipate a third visit from our San Diego County Office of Education, California Department of Education and the Department of Education.
The main focus for the 2009 Conference is to continue the strategic plan that is already in motion for CLOSING THE ACHIEVEMENT GAP. The training workshop is intended to empower parents, community/faith base organization, teachers, administrators, Supplemental Educational Services (SES) providers and district staff throughout the San Diego county.

After reviewing the many comments, remarks and evaluations from the 2008 Title I Conference, San Diego County Title I Parents Association is honored to have a collaboration of parent organizations working together in unity.
This will be a great opportunity for conference attendee(s) to learn about closing the academic achievement gap, Special Education issues, students of ALL diversity backgrounds, the IEP Process and the laws that govern the IEP process, discipline in the classroom and at home, school site councils, district advisory councils, Supplemental Education Services, reauthorization of No Child Left Behind, Parent Involvement Policy, Title I, (SES) Supplimental Education Services and much, much more subjects.
It is the goal of SDCT1PA to be inclusive and give all parents, schools, districts, community organizations and SES Providers an equal opportunity to participate in this informative educational endeavor.
San Diego County has 42 districts. We welcome and encourage ALL School Districts in the San Diego County to get actively involved in this local 2009 Title I Training conference for ALL stakeholders.
